The English-language publication of this book was done due to the efforts of famous philosophers and researchers of the Holocaust – “a Christian from Clermont” John Roth and “a Jew from Washington" Michael Berenbaun. "We were planning to draw attention to the works that were repeatedly quoted by researchers of the Holocaust,” they said in their book.
So the book contains articles of more than 20 famous Jewish and Christian philosophers, thinkers, literary men, mostly those who personally experienced the man-hating deeds of the fascists and their concentration camps and ghettos. They write on the Holocaust – the evil attempt at final destruction of the European Jewry by the Hitler Nazis during the period of 1939–1945.
The Ukrainian version of this book was published on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Babiy Yar tragedy. It sums up the topic of sufferings and pain that befell the Jewish nation in the ÕÕ century.

In it, the author examines the basics of the doctrine of the founder of this religious movement. He draws great attention to the analysis of hypotheses of the influence of beliefs and cults of the Slavs that lived in the territory of Ukraine, Belarus, and Poland in that period on the doctrine of Chassidism.
